As promised, here is the second part to your day...
After you get that trail run in and still need some warming up to do, this cute little cafe in Battle Ground should do the trick. Old Town Battle Grounds is located in, of course, the old part of Battle Ground. They took this little old church, leaving majority of it intact, gave it a name, and have been serving Stumptown coffee, sandwiches, and regular and gluten free treats ever since! If you have time, hang
out and play a game. Then wander through the streets to visit some neat antique
stores (there are 2 real close by)!
Do NOT miss out on their espresso whip. It is impressive and as tasty as anything could be.
I missed out, but Ty surely didn't!
If you're not a budget, have at their menu of sandwiches, treats, and drinks.
We hear their sandwiches are wonderful!
If you are on a budget, you can spend $10 or less on drinks and a treat.
1-12oz hot chocolate with almond milk
1-large cinnamon vanilla latte topped with espresso whip
Support those local cafes and restaurants after a lovely run/hike in an area you would not have chosen otherwise. Sure worth a trip to get out of the normal hiking scenes and see what North
of Portland has to offer! Have fun!
